Both finishes include artwork and up to three sleeve initials in the selected price, with no separate artwork charge.

For bespoke dog artwork, you'll receive a digital proof with one round of amendments included before we begin production.

FIT & SIZING

IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ BEFORE CHOOSING YOUR CHILD'S SIZE

Our size charts show garment measurements, NOT body measurements.

In particular, the chest measurements are HALF-CHEST measurements, taken straight across the garment from underarm to underarm while it is laid flat.

These are NOT your child's chest circumference.

For example, a 7–8 years hoodie with a half-chest measurement of 42 cm has an approximate full garment chest circumference of 84 cm.

Please do not compare the half-chest measurement directly with your child's chest circumference.

Our premium kidswear hoodie has a comfortable, contemporary unisex fit, designed for everyday adventures, outdoor play and relaxed wear.

GARMENT MEASUREMENTS

All measurements are in centimetres.

3–4 Years (98–104 cm height) — Half chest (A): 38 cm, Body length (B): 43 cm, Sleeve length (C): 32 cm

5–6 Years (110–116 cm height) — Half chest (A): 40 cm, Body length (B): 46 cm, Sleeve length (C): 37.5 cm

7–8 Years (122–128 cm height) — Half chest (A): 42 cm, Body length (B): 52 cm, Sleeve length (C): 43.5 cm

9–11 Years (134–146 cm height) — Half chest (A): 46 cm, Body length (B): 59 cm, Sleeve length (C): 50.5 cm

12–13 Years (152–158 cm height) — Half chest (A): 50 cm, Body length (B): 66 cm, Sleeve length (C): 57.5 cm

HOW TO MEASURE

• A — Half Chest: Lay a hoodie flat and measure straight across from one underarm to the other.
• B — Body Length: Measure vertically from the shoulder near the neckline to the bottom hem.
• C — Sleeve Length: Measure from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT FIT

The age ranges are a guide only. Children grow at different rates, so we recommend using the garment measurements and suggested height ranges rather than choosing by age alone.

For the most reliable comparison, measure a hoodie your child already owns and wears comfortably, using the same measuring points.

When choosing between sizes, consider your child's height, preferred fit and whether you would like a little extra room for growth.

Artwork & Personalisation

Where you've chosen bespoke artwork, we use your supplied photographs and personalisation details to create your design in the Field Cottage Designs house style.

For garments featuring existing studio artwork, we prepare your chosen design and personalisation without a separate artwork approval stage.

Your Artwork Proof

For bespoke portrait artwork, we'll send you a digital proof for approval before preparing your garment. One round of reasonable artwork amendments is included.

Personalisation such as initials or Roman numerals does not require a separate proof.

Studio Finishing

Once any required artwork approval has been received, your chosen design is prepared and pressed by hand in our West Sussex studio.

Artwork and personalisation included

The artwork and personalisation specified for your chosen garment or finish are included in its displayed price, with no separate artwork charge.

Please upload one or two clear photographs of your pet / animal.

Choose photographs that clearly show their distinctive features, particularly the face, ears and markings.

For head portraits, a clear view of the head and facial features is ideal.

For full-body artwork, choose a photograph showing the animal's complete outline, including the legs and tail where applicable.

A second photograph can help us capture another angle or additional details.

Photographs taken in natural light, with your animal clearly visible, generally produce the best results.

Washing

Turn inside out and machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle. Use a mild, non-biological detergent.

Wash dark colours separately.

Fasten all zips before washing. Avoid washing alongside garments with exposed zips, Velcro or other abrasive fastenings that could damage the artwork.

Do not bleach or use harsh cleaning products.

Drying

Reshape gently while damp. Dry naturally, preferably flat. Do not tumble dry.

Ironing

Do not iron or apply direct heat to the garment or artwork.

Dry Cleaning

Do not dry clean.

MADE TO ORDER & DELIVERY

Every Custom-Made Field Cottage Designs garment is individually prepared to order and finished by hand in our West Sussex studio.

Please allow approximately 7–10 working days from final artwork approval for production and dispatch.

We'll keep you informed if anything affects your order's progress.

Delivery charges are calculated at checkout. We currently deliver within the UK.

RETURNS & CANCELLATIONS

As Custom-Made garments are personalised to your specifications, the standard 14-day change-of-mind cancellation right does not apply.

Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected. If your garment arrives faulty, damaged or incorrect, please contact us so we can put things right.

We select quality garments with comfort, longevity and everyday wear in mind. Where available, we favour materials such as organic cotton and recycled fibres, and consider the manufacturing standards and practices of our suppliers.

Made individually

Our garments are prepared in considered quantities or individually to order, rather than produced in large batches of finished clothing.

Each piece is individually finished by hand in our West Sussex studio.

Small choices in our studio

We work from a home-based studio, where we're mindful of the resources we use.

We separate recyclable materials and food waste, compost where possible, reuse packaging and bags where practical, and try to avoid unnecessary single-use materials.

An ongoing responsibility

We know that clothing and garment decoration have an environmental impact. We don't claim otherwise.

Our approach is simply to make considered choices, care about the quality of what we produce, and keep looking for sensible ways to do things better.
